Professional Networking email

Below is a template that you can copy/paste into a blank email to reach out and recruit connections in your network. Feel free to edit it to suit your style. When copy/pasting it works best to copy/paste the text first, and add the image 2nd.

When sending, please ‘cc’ MMIH Coordinator Amy Fenn (fennsfolly@gmail.com) and let her know who you’ve sent it to so that she can follow up and answer any questions the recipient might have.

Thank you for helping to reach out! We go farther together!

Hi ________,

I’m writing to invite you to join in promoting a collaborative survey titled “Match Made In Heaven: Crops + Livestock.” The survey reaches crop and livestock farmers across 6 Upper Midwestern states and is a good opportunity for organizations to hear from their members and public.

Match Made In Heaven: Crops + Livestock is a partnership between crop and livestock associations, universities, public agencies, and soil/water groups. The project is seeking additional partners to help distribute and promote the survey during 2023. MMIH provides partner organizations with a toolkit of resources that can be used to reach out (templates for emails, ads, flyers); organizations then decide which tools fit best and reach out to their members. A limited number of $500-1000 stipends are available.

The survey seeks to learn about farmer’s interests, experiences, and challenges around integrating crops and livestock (such as grazing crop residue, or grazing cover crops). The results of the survey will guide creation of resources to benefit both crop and livestock farmers.

If your organization is interested in joining myself and others in reaching out to farmers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin, please see the MMIH website or contact Project Coordinator Amy Fenn at fennsfolly@gmail.com. Thank you!

ps: If you have farmers interested in pursuing crop and livestock integration, check out the Midwest Grazing Exchange!
